When she was just a year old, Felice Zimmern Stokes and her family were deported, along with 15,000 Jews in the Black Forest region of Germany, to Camp de Gurs, an internment camp in the Pyrenees region between France and Spain. The Oeuvre de Secours aux Enfants, a Jewish social welfare agency, took the children in the camp to a nursery in Limoges. From there, Felice was taken to hide in plain sight with the Patoux family in the south of France. At this year's lecture, she will share her story.
