My husband, Ryan, and I are blessed with two children. We are an active family and enjoy cycling, skiing, hiking, swimming, paddle boarding, and exploring. Our children love to create. They are always making something. We even turned our dining room into a makerspace because we found putting that at the center of our home made for a much better use of space. Our kids enjoy playing soccer and downhill skiing, while my husband is a very dedicated triathlete. We have two very precocious Golden Retrievers that keep us on our toes and bring us endless joy.

I began my career in education in 2004 as a high school English teacher. I loved every minute of it. I enjoyed teaching something new every chance I could. My greatest challenges, as well as my greatest accomplishments, in my teaching career were in the International Baccalaureate English courses and the role technology was having in education. In 2010, the iPad was released, and just before that Google Apps for Education was available to me. These two events fundamentally changed the way I viewed interacting with students. It transformed the "learning time" from the 90 minute class period to learning at any time they needed it, which accelerated their ability to move forward.
Luckily, the Director of Instruction in my school district noticed there was something different about the way I was doing things, and encouraged me to think about impact beyond my classroom. Shortly after, I began taking on district leadership roles. As the Instructional Technology Coordinator for the district, I collaborated with teams that taught me a lot and helped me understand how education could be different and better for this generation.
In 2013, I moved to the Kettle Moraine School District as the Director of Digital Learning. It is there that I had the immense honor of learning from some of the foremost leaders in personalized learning. I spent my time as Director working with teachers and other school leaders to build opportunities for students of which I am quite proud. I led the implementation of makerspaces in all buildings, K-5 Computer Science Immersion, Design Pathways based on the design thinking process in STEAM, a 1:1 technology partnership between the District and parents, reimagined and implemented 6th-12th grade Technology and Engineering programming, and redesigned several learning spaces.
In 2021, I transitioned to the role of Director of Secondary Education. I have realized how much I appreciate working with skilled teams to respond to data alongside the needs of a future workforce to analyze and develop programming. While I have served on curriculum teams and worked with the teaching and learning department very closely for years, I have grown the most from leading district level teams toward a common goal.
