I'm Tomo Ishiyama, founder of Holistic Massage Clinic TEATEYA in The Hague. I work with people experiencing persistent pain, recurring tension and restricted movement.
My approach combines careful listening, whole-body assessment and Japanese Manual Therapy, with attention to how you move in everyday life.
My interest in manual therapy grew from my own experience with lower back and knee pain, alongside my early work in relaxation massage. I wanted to understand more about why discomfort returns and how different areas of the body work together.
That led me to study anatomy, posture, movement and Japanese manual therapy. My training includes Seitai, myofascial release, Sōtai-hō and other hands-on approaches. I hold private certifications in the methods I practise; I do not hold a national therapy licence.
With over ten years in practice, I continue attending seminars and refining my skills.
Your concerns guide the session. I assess relevant aspects of posture, joint mobility, movement and muscle tension, then tailor treatment to your body and your comfort.
Sessions are fully clothed and use no oils or forceful manipulation. We recheck movement and discuss what we observed, together with suitable self-care advice.
I continue studying because every person brings a different history, body and set of goals. I aim to listen carefully, treat respectfully and explain honestly, so you understand the care you receive.
Our goals are greater comfort, confidence and ease of movement. Your response to treatment is individual, and improvement cannot be guaranteed.
