**Effective date:** 9 August 2026
Holiday Radar is a Chrome extension that helps users compare visible hotel prices across supported booking websites. This policy explains what information the extension handles, why it handles it, where that information goes, and the choices available to users.
## Summary
Holiday Radar:
- reads hotel and stay information from supported booking pages only to provide its price-comparison features;
- performs its extraction and comparison coordination locally in the user's browser;
- does not operate a developer-controlled server or analytics service;
- does not collect account credentials, payment-card details, personal communications, health information, or precise physical location;
- does not sell user data or use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending; and
- does not execute remotely hosted code.
## Information the extension handles
### Website content and browsing activity
On supported hotel-booking websites, Holiday Radar may read:
- the page URL and supported provider domain;
- hotel or property name and destination shown on the page;
- check-in and check-out dates;
- number of adults and rooms;
- requested or displayed currency;
- visible prices and limited surrounding text needed to distinguish current prices from crossed-out, unavailable, or unrelated prices; and
- navigation and tab information needed to connect a provider result to the Agoda page that requested it.
Holiday Radar is limited to the supported Agoda, Tripadvisor, Vio, Booking.com, Expedia, Trip.com, and Priceline domains declared in the extension package. It does not monitor general browsing on unrelated websites.
### Extension preferences
Holiday Radar stores preferences through Chrome's extension storage, including:
- whether comparison tabs open in the background;
- whether provider tabs close after a check;
- the panel position;
- the panel's collapsed state; and
- whether the settings section is expanded.
Chrome may sync these preferences between browsers signed into the same Chrome profile when Chrome Sync is enabled. That synchronization is provided by Google and is governed by the user's Google and Chrome settings.
### Temporary comparison state
While a comparison is running, Holiday Radar temporarily stores information such as the selected hotel and stay details, requested provider, provider URL, tab identifiers, and pending comparison targets in memory and Chrome session storage. This allows a provider tab to return its result to the correct Agoda tab and allows an interrupted extension service worker to resume the active comparison.
## How the information is used
Holiday Radar uses this information only to:
- show the current Agoda price as a comparison baseline;
- create searches on supported booking providers for the selected hotel and stay;
- request or select the chosen currency where a provider supports it;
- read and display visible provider prices;
- sort comparable prices;
- coordinate, focus, reuse, reload, or close comparison tabs according to the user's actions and settings; and
- remember the user's extension preferences and panel layout.
Holiday Radar does not use this information to build profiles, analyse behaviour, serve advertising, determine creditworthiness, or make lending decisions.
## Information sent to booking providers
When the user starts a price check, Holiday Radar opens HTTPS pages on supported booking providers. To perform the requested comparison, the destination URL may include the hotel name or destination, stay dates, number of adults and rooms, and requested currency. The selected provider receives this information as part of the normal webpage request, just as it would if the user performed the search directly on that provider's website.
Providers may also receive ordinary browser and network information, such as the user's IP address, cookies, browser information, and referral parameters already present in provider links. Holiday Radar does not control the providers' websites, cookies, security checks, availability, or privacy practices. Information received by a provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
Holiday Radar does not send hotel-page information, comparison results, or extension preferences to the Holiday Radar publisher or to a developer-controlled server.
## Data sharing and sale
Holiday Radar does not sell user data.
Holiday Radar does not transfer user data to third parties except for the information necessarily included in HTTPS navigation to a booking provider chosen as part of the extension's user-facing price-comparison feature. It does not transfer data for advertising, data brokerage, unrelated analytics, creditworthiness, or lending.
## Retention
- Comparison state is temporary. It is removed as checks complete, tabs close, or the browser session ends, subject to Chrome's session-storage behaviour.
- Preferences remain in Chrome extension storage until the user changes them, clears the extension's stored data, or removes the extension, subject to Chrome Sync settings and retention.
- Holiday Radar's publisher does not retain a server-side copy because the extension does not send this information to a publisher-controlled server.
- Booking providers may retain information they receive under their own privacy policies.
## Security
Holiday Radar limits its access to supported booking domains and uses HTTPS URLs when navigating to providers. Its JavaScript is included in the installed extension package; it does not download or execute remotely hosted code.
No browser extension or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should review the final room, price, tax, meal, cancellation, account, and payment details directly on the booking provider's website before booking.
## User choices and deletion
Users can:
- choose which provider checks to start;
- stop an active multi-provider comparison;
- control background-tab and automatic-tab-closing preferences;
- clear Holiday Radar's extension data through Chrome's extension or site-data controls; or
- uninstall Holiday Radar to stop all extension processing.
Holiday Radar does not provide user accounts and therefore does not maintain an account record for users to access, correct, or delete from a publisher-controlled server.
## Children
Holiday Radar is a general hotel-comparison utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
## Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
Holiday Radar's use of information received through Chrome extension permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve Holiday Radar's single-purpose, user-facing hotel price-comparison functionality. It is not used or transferred for personalised advertising, unrelated purposes, creditworthiness, or lending, and it is not made available for human review except when required by law, for security, or when a user explicitly provides information for a support request.
## Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Holiday Radar's functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised when a material update is published. Any new data practice will be disclosed through the Chrome Web Store and, where required, within the extension before it takes effect.
