In November of 2020, HOLA members taught a virtual math lesson to a group of third graders at Escuela Quince de Mayo in Tijuana, Mexico. This lesson was taught in Spanish!

HOLA members came together during the holiday season to donate gifts to Central Shalom in Mexico. They created shoeboxes filled with gifts and essentials.

Towards the end of the school year, HOLA members helped facilitate the High School Panel at Keiller Leadership Academy. They presented advice and information to help 8th graders at KLA transition from middle school to high school.

HOLA implemented an after-school mentorship system at two inner-city elementary schools in the greater San Diego area. This program seeks to expose students to new academic enrichment opportunities and instill a sense of confidence and leadership in the next generation of Hispanic students.

While outreaching to schools in our community, we began to realize inequalities in education. To combat this, HOLA implemented a weekly STEM Education Outreach program at two Hispanic schools to introduce students to new science topics and interactive experiments.
