I received my B.S. in Plant Pathology and Microbiology from National Taiwan University. I completed my Ph.D. in Institute of Plant Biology with Dr. Hsu-Liang Hsieh at National Taiwan University, where I studied how phytochrome A integrates the jasmonic acid signal pathway via interacting with Far-red Insensitive 219/Jasmonate Resistant 1. I have worked in the laboratory of Dr. Stan Roux at the University of Texas at Austin for more than two years, where I focused on the interacting partners of ectoapyrases (ecto-NTPDases) in Arabidopsis and establishing the monoclonal antibody detecting procedure to verify the protein level of NTP9 (nucleoside riphosphatase 9) in transgenic crops. In the Ho lab, I am interested in characterizing the PBS, PSII, and PSI from a Gloeobacter-like strain and finding FRL-using plants.

I graduated from National Taiwan University with a Master’s degree in Fisheries Science at College of Life Science. I am currently a research assistant in the lab and enjoy working here with a group of energetic and passionate people. I am responsible for maintaining cyanobacterial cultures. I'm interested in using FRL to study photosynthesis and I hope that we could apply the system on plants as well.

I am a R&D Alternative Serviceman. I am interested in synthetic biology and molecular biology in plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. I am here to get a better understanding of the far-red-light-utilizing system in cyanobacteria and looking for a chance to turn this far-red-light-triggered system into a module for gene expression in other organisms.
When I was an undergraduate, I majored in Biotechnology and studied Molecular Biology in orchid at National Cheng Kung University.
Love gardening, hiking, and fencing.

As a plant biology graduate student, I explore how cyanobacteria that can use far-red light are distributed and diversified in extreme environments, such as hot springs and intertidal zones. I am also interested in the genes that enable them to adapt to far-red light photoacclimation (FaRLiP). I apply various techniques ranging from field sampling to isolation and sequencing and analyze the data using bioinformatics. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games and hanging out with friends at bars.
PhD student (Life Science)
My work delves into the intricate responses of Acaryochloris marina under both white light and far-red light conditions. Beyond the lab, I find joy in exploring all kinds of fresh-milk tea, especially with the blend of quarter-sugar and ice-free. In addition to my scientific pursuits, I have learned Japanese, driven by my interest in Japan's captivating songs and anime.

I am a master student interesting in molecular biology in plants, algae, and cyanobacteria. Graduated from National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), where my academic focus encompassed plant, microorganism and molecular biology. Since I aspire to develop deeper insights into plants and cyanobacteria, I have been most draw into plant biology and microbiology. This eagerness is what drives me to join Ho Lab to study more about far-red-light-utilizing system in cyanobacteria. Beyond the confines of the lab, I love drawing and listening to music.
Zih-Yun Wang 王姿云
Master student (Life Science)
I am a master's student with a passion for molecular biology and microbiology. I love exploring life at the microscopic level. To learn more about plants and cyanobacteria, I joined Professor Ho's lab. My research focuses on studying the function of linker proteins in thylakoid-free cyanobacterium . Outside the lab, I enjoy baking and photography.
Tzu-Ling Chen 陳梓綾
Master student (Plant Biology)
I am a master student study in plant biology, having graduated from the Department of Agronomy at National Chung Hsing University. I’m interested in studying photosynthesis and physiology functions through far-red light (FRL) cyanobacteria. I am focused on researching the photosynthesis of cyanobacteria and screening strains for use in achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
Outside of the laboratory, I enjoy drinking tea and coffee, as well as engaging in water activities.

I am a master student, having completed my undergraduate studies in Plant Pathology and Microbiology at National Taiwan University. My research interests focus on promoters’ regulation light-inducible systems in FaRLiP cyanobacteria. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, listening to music, and cuddle my cat.
Tsen-Hsi Liao 廖岑熹
Master student (Plant Biology)
I am a master's student studying plant science at the Institute of Plant Biology, National Taiwan University, having graduated from the Department of Agricultural Chemistry. I'm particularly interested in environmental applications of cyanobacteria and their interactions with other microorganisms. My current research focuses on co-cultivation systems between cyanobacteria and methanotrophs.
Chia-Hong Sun 孫佳宏
Undergraduate (Life Science)
I am currently an undergraduate student working on improving cyanobacterial culture media and carrying out conjugation in far-red light-acclimated cyanobacteria. I am eager to deepen my understanding of plant and microbial biology and hope to gain hands-on experience in the lab. Outside of research, I enjoy running and spending time outdoors, looking for small animals or exploring natural environments.
