Dr. Hsin-Ni Ho and Ho Lab First Generation Members!
Dr. Hsin-Ni Ho is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Design, Kyushu University. She received the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006. She worked as a research scientist in the NTT Communication Science Laboratories, Japan from 2007 to 2021.
Her area of expertise is in the development of haptic interfaces based on human perceptual properties. She focuses on modeling physical processes during hand-object interactions for the development of haptic interfaces and aims to understand how the brain processes cutaneous inputs and integrates them with other sensory inputs to form a unified perception of touch events. Her works are published in top journals in the fields of haptics, neuroscience, and psychology and covered by Scientific American.
Her research interests include haptic perception, multimodal interactions, Shitsukan perception, and the development of haptic interfaces on the basis of human perceptual properties.
