Welcome to the Hearing Booster for Airbuds app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Hearing Aid Booster app on the iOS operating system.
By downloading and using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
To perform its core functions and deliver a personalized experience, the App requires specific access permissions on your iOS device. We handle this sensitive data with the highest level of security and transparency:
A. Microphone Access (Required)
Purpose: The App requires explicit permission to access your device's Microphone. This allows the App to capture ambient sound from your environment, which is then amplified, filtered, and processed in real-time to transmit directly to your connected headphones or listening devices.
Audio Privacy & Retention: The entire audio processing occurs strictly locally (on-device) on your iOS device. The audio data exists only momentarily in the device's volatile memory (RAM) to facilitate real-time amplification and is immediately discarded. We DO NOT record, DO NOT store, DO NOT transmit to any external servers, and DO NOT share any of your conversations, environmental audio, or voice data with any third parties.
User Control: You can grant or revoke Microphone access at any time through your device's settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone). However, please note that revoking this permission will render the core amplification features of the App unusable.
B. Apple HealthKit and Audiogram Integration (Optional)
Purpose: To provide a customized hearing experience, the App may request your explicit permission to read Audiogram data stored in your Apple Health app (HealthKit framework). This allows the App to automatically adjust and calibrate specific audio frequencies to match your personal hearing profile.
Health Data Privacy: If you choose to enable this integration, your Audiogram data is only read and applied locally on your device. We DO NOT collect, store off-device, transmit to our servers, or sell your health data.
Strict Non-Marketing Use: In strict compliance with Apple's App Store guidelines, under no circumstances will your HealthKit data be used for marketing, advertising, data mining, or shared with data brokers.
User Control: You have full control over this integration. You can manage, allow, or entirely revoke the App's access to your Health data at any time via the Apple Health app or your device's settings (Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices).
While we strictly do not collect, monitor, or store any personal audio or health data off-device, we may automatically collect certain anonymous technical data. This information is purely used to monitor the App's performance, identify bugs, and improve the overall user experience.
A. Crash & Diagnostics Data
Source: We receive this data exclusively through Apple's opt-in analytics services (Apple Analytics), provided you have agreed to share app diagnostics with developers in your iOS device settings.
What is Collected: If the App crashes or experiences a critical error, we receive anonymous crash logs. This data may include your device model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro), iOS operating system version, time of the crash, the specific line of code that failed, and the device's basic state at the time of the crash (e.g., available memory/RAM).
Purpose: This data is vital for us to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and release updates to fix technical issues. It contains no personally identifiable information.
B. Usage & Performance Data
What is Collected: We may collect aggregated, de-identified information regarding how you interact with the App. This includes non-personal metrics such as the frequency of app launches, average session duration, and which features or user interface elements are most frequently utilized (e.g., adjusting amplification levels).
Purpose: This helps us understand user preferences on a macro level, allowing us to refine the user interface and prioritize future feature development.
Strict Anonymization: All usage data is strictly anonymized. It cannot be reverse-engineered or linked back to your personal identity, device ID, or Apple ID.
C. No Cross-App Tracking (App Tracking Transparency)
We respect your privacy across your entire device. The App does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for targeted advertising or data brokering purposes. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs that harvest your data.
We are committed to the principle of data minimization. The limited information we collect (anonymous technical data and voluntary support communications) is used strictly for the following legitimate purposes:
A. Maintaining and Optimizing App Performance
Monitoring the stability of the App and ensuring the real-time audio amplification features operate smoothly without latency.
Identifying, diagnosing, and deploying bug fixes for technical issues or App crashes based on anonymous diagnostic logs.
Guaranteeing ongoing compatibility with new iOS versions and Apple hardware updates.
B. Product Development and Enhancement
Analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage trends so we can better understand how our users interact with the App.
Guiding our research and development efforts, which allows us to design new accessibility features, improve the user interface, and optimize the overall hearing assistance experience.
C. Customer Support and Communication
When you voluntarily contact us for technical assistance, feedback, or inquiries via email or phone, we collect your provided contact details (such as your name, email address, or phone number).
Strict Communication Scope: This contact information is utilized solely for communicating with you regarding your specific request and resolving your issue. We will never add your contact details to any mailing lists, nor will we use them for sending unsolicited marketing, promotional materials, or spam.
D. Security and Legal Compliance
Detecting, preventing, and addressing technical fraud or security vulnerabilities within the App.
Ensuring compliance with applicable legal obligations, enforcing our Terms of Service, and responding to lawful requests from public and government authorities.
We maintain a strict policy against the monetization of your privacy. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise exploit any of your information for commercial, marketing, or advertising purposes.
Data sharing only occurs under the following highly restricted circumstances:
A. Apple Ecosystem and Infrastructure The sharing of anonymous technical and diagnostic data occurs exclusively within the Apple ecosystem (specifically, Apple App Analytics). This integration functions only if you have explicitly opted in to share app analytics with developers during your iOS device setup or within your device settings. We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks, trackers, or external data brokers into the App.
B. Legal Compliance and Safety Obligations Disclosure of information to external entities will only occur when strictly mandated by law. We may disclose available data to law enforcement agencies, courts, or government authorities if required by applicable legislation, subpoena, or court order. Such disclosures are strictly limited to situations where we believe in good faith that action is necessary for:
Complying with a judicial proceeding or legal process.
Protecting and defending our legal rights or property.
Preventing or investigating possible technical fraud or security breaches.
Protecting the personal safety of App users or the general public.
C. Business Transfers In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the App or its assets, any limited user information we possess (such as unresolved customer support communications) may be transferred as part of that transaction. We ensure that any acquiring entity is legally bound to respect the commitments outlined in this Privacy Policy.
We integrate "Privacy by Design" into the core architecture of Hearing Booster. Our primary method of securing your data is by simply not collecting it in the first place.
A. On-Device Processing and Volatile Memory The fundamental operation of the App relies entirely on local, on-device processing. Sensitive information, including real-time audio inputs and Audiogram metrics, is processed exclusively within the device's volatile memory (RAM). Because this data never leaves your iOS device and is never transmitted to cloud databases or external servers, it is inherently protected from external server breaches, unauthorized remote access, or third-party interception.
B. Storage of Customer Support Communications Any contact information or communication history you voluntarily provide when seeking customer support (such as emails) is stored utilizing standard, secure email providers. We retain this communication data only for as long as necessary to address your inquiry, resolve technical issues, or fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. Once an issue is fully resolved, such communications are subject to routine deletion.
C. Security Safeguards and Legal Disclaimer We employ commercially reasonable and industry-standard electronic security measures to protect your support communications against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet, and no method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use the best acceptable means to protect your voluntary communications, we cannot guarantee their absolute, infallible security.
Our commitment to privacy extends fundamentally to protecting the safety of minors. Hearing Booster is designed as a utility tool for a general audience, and strict measures are in place regarding children's data.
A. Age Limitations and Legal Compliance We strictly comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, the age of consent requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, and similar applicable international laws. We do not knowingly target, solicit, or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age of digital consent in your specific jurisdiction).
B. Inherent Protection Through Local Processing Because all core functionalities—including audio amplification and HealthKit audiogram integration—are processed strictly locally on the user's device, we inherently do not collect, monitor, or store any sensitive audio or health data from children.
C. Parental Rights and Immediate Data Deletion The only hypothetical scenario in which we might receive personal data from a minor is if they proactively and independently contact our customer support. If you are a parent or legal guardian and you become aware that your child has inadvertently provided us with contact information (such as an email address) without your verifiable consent, please contact us immediately. Upon receiving your notification, we will take swift action to locate and permanently delete any such correspondence from our active records.
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect new feature updates or changes from Apple App Store guidelines. Any changes will be updated directly in the "Last Updated" section at the top of this document and are effective immediately.
If you have any questions about how the App handles Microphone access, or if you need technical support, please contact the responsible app developer directly:
