Ms. Williams is the band director of the HMMS red devil band. She received her Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2021. While there, she performed in several ensembles including the UT Wind Ensemble, UT Symphonic Band, the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, and was a freelance trumpet player in the Knoxville area.
In 2023, Ms. Williams received her Master's of Music from UT Knoxville, where she completed a year long internship at Maryville City Schools, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Pride of the Southland Marching Band.
Outside of HMMS, Ms. Williams is a member of the Tennessee Wind Symphony, a freelance trumpet player, and teaches private lessons to students in the Knoxville area.
Mr. Collins works full time at our high school, but comes to our 7th and 8th grade band classes to help teach as well. He enjoys getting to spend time with the middle school students and get to know them before they reach high school!
Mr. Collins received his Bachelor's of Music at Tennessee Tech University in 2020. He then continued his education at Louisiana State University, and graduated with his Master's of Music in 2022. Mr. Collins recently received his Master's of Education from Carson Newman University in 2024.
Outside of UCHS, Mr. Collins works as the Principal Oboist for the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra, and is the oboe professor at Carson Newman Universiy, as well freelances in the Knoxville area.
Mrs. Haynes is currently our high school choir director. However, she used to teach the middle school band at HMMS! She comes over for our 6th grade classes to help teach the beginners, and enjoys getting to help students start their musical journey!
Mrs. Haynes attended Lincoln Memorial University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music in 2011. Recently Ms. Haynes received her Master's of Music Education in 2025 from Carson Newman University.
Mrs. Haynes also takes on the duty of teaching the guitar class at UCHS. Aside from teaching choir and guitar at UCHS, Mrs. Haynes also teaches part time at LMU, where she works as the Director of the Tri-State community choir, and works as a church pianist.
All three of us work together in order to give your students the best music education we can provide. We are very thankful to get to have both Mr. Collins and Mrs. Haynes in our classroom often!
