During individual psychotherapy, you will have a one-on-one psychotherapy session with a registered psychologist. In these sessions, only the two of you will be present in the psychotherapy session and you will work through your needs and goals for therapy. Individual therapy has shown to have benefits for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.
There are many reasons to start a therapeutic process. These reasons differ from individual to individual. Whether it is exploring and expressing your feelings, working through life challenges, gaining self-awareness, dealing with depression or anxiety, identifying aspects about yourself and your life that you may want to change or improve, your reasons are valid.
Focus areas include (but are not limited to):
Mood (Depression, Bipolar, Suicidality)
Anxiety (stress, generalized and social anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive behaviours, phobias)
Abuse (emotional, physical, sexual)
Trauma, Acute Trauma, PTSD
Bereavement and grief
Addiction (gambling and substances)
Burnout, Adjusting to life challenges, Relationship difficulties
Personality Disorders, Psychotic disorders
Psychopathology and diagnoses
