I am clinical psychologist registered as an independent practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I completed my three year undergraduate degree in B.Sc. Behavioural Genetics at the University of the Free State. Thereafter, I completed my BA Honors degree in Psychology (Cum Laude) and my Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of the Free State.
During my internship at the Free State Psychiatric Complex (FSPC), I rendered services in the forensic unit. I also rendered psychological services to adults, adolescents and children. I assisted at FSPC's inpatient treatment center, known as Mafube, as well as at the Universitas academic hospital where I treated inpatients at the request of medical staff.
I completed my community service year as a clinical psychologist at Witrand Hospital in Potchefstroom, where I worked predominantly in the inpatient substance and mental health rehabilitation ward, providing psychotherapy and assessment services to inpatients. I administrated and organized the substance rehabilitation groups to the inpatients in the ward. I also worked in the neuro rehabilitation ward where, I provided psychotherapy and neurocognitive assessments to patients whom have experienced neurocognitive difficulties. Throughout my community service year at Witrand Hospital, I provided psychotherapy to out patients. These services were rendered to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
After completing my community service at Witrand Hospital, I opened my small and humble private practice at the Koelte Tuin gardens in Potchefstroom. This is currently where I am with my journey. Having dedicated my life towards the journey of becoming a psychologist, I strive to help others on their journey of becoming the best possible version of themselves.
