We are delighted and honoured to welcome Professor Paul Cheung for a special talk on Artificial Intelligence next month, entitled:
“AI in Education – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”
Professor Cheung is the former Dean of Engineering and former Associate Vice-President (Research) of The University of Hong Kong (HKU). He is currently an Honorary Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the School of Computing and Data Science at HKU.
Having joined HKU in 1980, Professor Cheung served the University in numerous academic and leadership roles until his retirement in 2018. Many alumni may also remember him as the founder of the HKU Marathon Team in 2006.
Before joining HKU, he obtained his BSc(Eng) and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, in 1973 and 1978 respectively.
Beyond his distinguished academic career and research achievements, Professor Cheung is also an enthusiastic practitioner of a wide range of hobbies and sports, reflecting his diverse interests and vibrant personality. He is certainly someone who cannot be replaced by AI! Please refer to the the biographical note here for further details.
