Hong Kong To Nguyen holds a BA in philosophy and political science from Columbia University (2008-2012) and an MSc. in International Relations from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (2019-2021). As a Japanese government (MEXT) scholar, she is pursuing a doctorate degree in IR also at Ritsumeikan APU (2021-expected completion in 2024), with her research focused on maritime security in the South China Sea.
Nguyen was the chief editor at the private Hanoi-based media monitoring company Vietnam Panorama (Toan Viet Co.) from 2012 to 2018. She is a member of the A.I. for Social Data Lab (AISDL) in Hanoi, and is also affiliated part-time researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Social Research at Phenikaa University in Hanoi. She has published 30 articles in different capacities in various well-known journals, covering diverse topics on Vietnamese social sciences and humanities.
