Introduction

At COP26, nations adopted the Glasgow Climate Pact, aiming to turn the 2020s into a decade of climate action and support as one of the final opportunities for international coordination and collaboration to achieve the Paris Agreement. The agreed items include strengthened efforts to build climate resilience, to curb greenhouse gas emissions and to provide the necessary finance for both.

At our society, engineering sector especially environmental professional is directly invested in the outcome of COP26. Not only because engineering solution is crucial for government and businesses to achieve net zero targets, but engineers could also influence climate strategy and policy, put it into practice and facilitate green finance.

This forum aims to discuss and demonstrate engineers’ role in a new eco-system that could help Hong Kong’s net zero transition. It will focus on innovative engineering solutions in three sectors i) energy; ii) building and construction and iii) logistic and transportation, where the last session is co-organized with The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK).
