HKIE MIS INDUSTRY AWARD 2021

Encouraging Manufacturing, Industrial and Systems (MIS) engineering stakeholders to better understand the practical applications of the MIS Engineering in the industry is one of the missions of MIS Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). Over the years, MIS Division has organized various activities for the engineering industries such as project competitions, technical visits, seminars and symposiums.

In this year, we are going to run the HKIE MIS Industry Award 2021 with the aim to recognize the excellent achievements of relevant industries in Hong Kong in enhancing their manufacturing productivity, product quality and innovation in real industrial context.

Three Award Categories

Smart Manufacturing Award

This award aims to recognize applicants who are applying fully-integrated and collaborative manufacturing systems that can respond in real time to meet changing demands and conditions in the factory, supply chain network needs and customer needs.

Reindustrialisation Award

This award aims to recognize applicants who are applying reindustrialization to reduce labour shortage associated with the labour intensive industries and make the best use of land that produce high value-added, service-oriented products.

Innovation Award

This award aims to recognize applicants who are applying outstanding innovation and creative design in new products or systems which exploit new market and exceed customer expectations.

Judgement criteria

Assessment is based on the submissions whether they match with the particular award criteria and demonstrate their evolution of MIS project from pain point analysis, in-depth improvement processes, challenges and difficulties of implementation; significant achievements and impacts to other manufacturing industries.
