Teaching Philosophy

Did you know what Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael have in common? They received a significant amount of sponsorship from the Medici family during the 14-15 centuries when they were at their early-stage startups. These three young artists may not be successful without receiving such great support and this hugely affected my research interest and teaching philosophy.

Thus, I have four KEYS teaching objectives:

1. Know your students and assist in their discovery.

2. Encourage students by being approachable rather than telling.

3. Your teaching methods should be in an intuitive and simplified manner.

4. Strive to motivate students to apply their knowledge to practical analysis.
