Hi Derek,

Love the site.

Quick question. I been thinking about this set up and wonder if it will be too slippery. 1)regular poly tree straps to tree. On end loop is a loop to loop connection of Amsteel which is now essentially becomes a single line Amsteel rope off the tree strap. I have Amsteel continuous loops on my hammock. So what I would like to do is use a marlin spike hitch with a biner on the single stand Amsteel rope connecting the Amsteel suspension line to the continuous loop. Would the Amsteel be too slippery for the hitch or should this hold. I am going to try however just wonder your opinion.

Kind regards,

Jeff

1. Would you be comfortable using as the suspension? (From tree straps to hammock)

2. Confirm you dont recommend using beckett hitch with this line?

3. They also sell a hollow version that is splice-able, would you say this is better with Becket hitch?

Ok. I cut 2, 8 foot pieces of spectra line, paired with my tree straps, all totalling 2.3 oz. The traditional becket hitch did not work (it slipped as Derek thought it might) even though the hammock loops appear to be polyester and not spectra line; however after using a small stick as a toggle in the becket hitch it worked great! Held me all night long without issues. Happy with my new, cheap, light weight, highly adjustable suspension. Used the left over spectra for a ridgeline too. Thanks for the help!

The Clear Lake hitch is a large minnow found only in Clear Lake and its tributaries. The hitch population has been struggling for some time and the recent drought exacerbated the situation. In 2014, the hitch was listed as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act. In March 2023, Governor Newsom directed the State Water Board to evaluate minimum instream flows, work with water users and Tribes on voluntary actions, and consider emergency regulations to protect the Clear Lake hitch. The State Water Board is deeply committed to helping Clear Lake communities and Tribes protect the hitch now and in the long term.

Listening Sessions (January & February 2023): Board staff held two virtual public listening sessions to discuss the emergency impacting the Clear Lake hitch and potential near and long-term solutions. As hitch migrate through Clear Lake Creeks to reproduce each year, they may be blocked from reaching spawning habitat by physical barriers such as dams, culverts (tunnels that allow creeks to flow under roads), garbage, and overgrown vegetation. State, federal, and local government agencies are coordinating with Tribes and community groups to identify, prioritize, and address these barriers.

The Clear Lake hitch have a life cycle up to six-years. Each spring, adult hitch migrate up Clear Lake tributaries to spawn before returning to the lake. After about two weeks, juveniles hatch and make their way to the lake. Without enough water flowing during this time, the hitch cannot successfully spawn or return to the lake. Because the hitch have a relatively short life cycle, one or two bad spawning seasons can be potentially detrimental to the species.

lang.hitch enables you to keep a code block in scope. Say you have a function that has a inline function and you want to call this.map to get a refernec to the map object well if you are calling this.map from inside an inline function you are VERY like to see the error that this.map is undefined. Using lang.hitch before you call your inline function tell the inline function what 'this' is.

Next, unhook the trailer and jack up the trailer until there is no trailer weight on the hitch. Make sure the trailer jack is not on the scale. Record that weight of only the truck. This is your Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

For most vehicles, the Model 6 is the appropriate Tow & Stow hitch. However, if you have a vehicle with oversized tires, a lift kit, or a trailer that is not at the same relative height as your receiver, you may need a Model 8 or Model 10. The following diagram depicts how to calculate what is commonly referred to as 'drop.'

Anyway, I create a button, and in the button's onClick method, I want to be able to call another function using lang.hitch (to keep function in scope). But the called function takes a parameter, and I can't seem to pass it in. I can only call the function, like this.

A thigh hitch can be thought of a same side knee hook that has been moved to your upper thigh. Holding tension downward on the tail in thigh hitch helps prevent slipping, but you should be able to fully stop movement without the aid of the hands (scroll down for tips). In our traditional thigh hitch, keeping your body in a horizontal position is important for making the hitch function. Going vertical and upside down pulls the loop apart, opening and destroying the hitch.

Are you looking to get away? Do you spend spring, summer and fall hitching up the camper and heading out to that next big adventure? Is your RV so well used that your home has become your home-away-from-home?

Protect your GMC Sierra MultiPro or Chevrolet Silverado Multi-Flex tailgate from costly damage from trailer hitch accessories. This hitch cap sensor detects if there is a hitch accessory installed in the receiver tube and prevents the inner tailgate from folding down and hitting the ball mount or other accessory.

Found only in Northern California's Clear Lake and its tributaries, the Clear Lake hitch isn't your average-sized minnow: It weighs in at almost a pound. Hitch migrate each spring, when adults make their way upstream in tributaries of Clear Lake to spawn before they return to the lake. Millions of hitch once clogged the lake's tributaries during spectacular spawning runs, and these biologically significant masses were a vital part of the lake's ecosystem, an important food source for numerous birds, other fish and wildlife. Hitch, or chi, were once so plentiful that they were a staple food for the Pomo tribes of the Clear Lake region.

Clear Lake hitch have declined precipitously in abundance as the ecology of their namesake lake has been altered and degraded. By the time regular surveys of hitch spawning began, hitch abundance had plummeted one-hundred fold. Now only a few thousand hitch make the annual spawning run. The fish once spawned in every tributary to Clear Lake but now are able to spawn in significant numbers in only two streams in the Big Valley drainage south of Clear Lake, in Kelsey and Adobe creeks. Clear Lake hitch have declined due to loss of spawning habitat and nursery areas, migration barriers that block passage to spawning grounds, alteration of creek habitat, in-channel mining, temporary road-building through channels, water pumping, predation by and competition from introduced invasive fish, and the impacts of pollutants.

In 2012 the Center petitioned to protect Clear Lake hitch under both the federal Endangered Species Act and the California Endangered Species Act. In response to our state petition, California protected them as a threatened species in 2014.

Following a Center lawsuit, in spring 2022 the Service agreed to reconsider protecting Clear Lake hitch by Jan. 15, 2025. But the situation is dire. So in December 2022, we joined Pomo allies to urge Interior Secretary Debra Haaland and the Fish and Wildlife Service to protect Clear Lake hitch on an emergency basis.

The e2 hitch gives you faster and easier sway control and weight distribution without the hassle of chains or add-on sway bars. The e2 hitch comes in round-bar and trunnion styles. Both offer fast and easy sway control and weight distribution. The e2's smart design can be installed around gas tanks and battery boxes, works with surge brakes, and can accommodate any trailer type.

Bought your 10,000 lb weight distribution hitch for our 35' long, 6,800 lb travel trailer. Towed it about 30 miles on 4/13/18 from storage to our house in winds gusting up to 50 mph. It performed perfectly. The next day was a 2.5 hour pull to our campground NE of Columbus, Ohio. I couldn't not believe how effortless the pull was. At times I was literally able to have one hand on the steering wheel if needed. Thanks for this great product!

Installed the e2 6,000 lb trunnion hitch for an 18 ft travel trailer. Pulling it with a 2015 Tacoma V6. Works great! Got the setup right on the first try. Instructions were very good. Happy with the product.

Our friends recommended that we get the e2 trunnion hitch for our 26 ft Jayco mated to our F150. Everything has been great. It is easy to hook up and disconnect, and when pulling, the trailer is stable and we have no swaying of any kind. e24fc04721
