Organizers will give brief introduction and an agenda overview. We will then introduce the workshop themes that will inform the hands-on sessions.

5-minute-long presentations of accepted submissions, followed by a Q&A and group discussion.

Participants can choose to work in small groups or individually for the hands-on activities. The activities align with the workshop themes of "rupture and continuity", "figure-ground reversal" and "the present as past or future."

Back as one group, each team will present a brief report on their speculative artifacts from design activities and key discussion points from their session. We then bring the groups together for a moderated discussion to develop tangible outcomes for research.
15:45 - 16:30
We will host a discussion with invited panelists, including Richmond Wong, Heidi Biggs, Laura Forlano, and Sasha de Koninck who will share their experiences and challenges in conducting research at the intersection of speculative design and historicism, followed by a Q&A session
16:30 - 17:00
We will conclude with a reflection on the approaches explored and discuss post-workshop opportunities for continued progress and collaboration.
