Historicism in the Twenty-First Century
Symposium on the Interpretation of Daniel and Revelation
The symposium brings together scholars and researchers to examine the historicist approach to biblical apocalyptic literature in light of contemporary theological, historical, and exegetical discussions. With a particular focus on Daniel and Revelation, the symposium seeks to foster scholarly dialogue on the development, significance, and continuing relevance of historicist interpretation within Adventist and broader Christian scholarship.
The symposium brings together scholars and researchers to examine the historicist approach to biblical apocalyptic literature in light of contemporary theological, historical, and exegetical discussions. With a particular focus on Daniel and Revelation, the symposium seeks to foster scholarly dialogue on the development, significance, and continuing relevance of historicist interpretation within Adventist and broader Christian scholarship.
Scholars and researchers are invited to submit paper proposals for this online symposium on historicism and the interpretation of Daniel and Revelation.
Proposals should engage historicism as a hermeneutical approach and may address areas such as exegesis, theology, reception history, Adventist studies, and related fields.
The symposium will include plenary presentations and selected paper sessions. Paper presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion.
Presenters should hold a Ph.D. or be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program.
