Welcome
What resources do we have in California? To what extent do our daily lives change our environment?
To what extent does our environment shape and change our lives?
To what extent do natural resources, climate, and landforms affect how plants, animals, and us humans live?
Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of Earth's surface and the human societies spread across it. ... Geography seeks to understand where things are found, why they are there, and how they develop and change over time.
Are you passionate about your environment? What are the adults doing to the environment that will become your problem to solve? What do you have to say about it?

Frogs have permeable skin so to what extent do you think frogs' health be effected by pollution in the water? This activity is adapted from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums1 for San Diego County Office of Education.
Activity 1: Place two hard-boiled eggs in water with food coloring. One egg is peeled, the other is in its shell. After at least 24 hours, peel the shelled egg and compare how far the food coloring has penetrated each egg.
Activity 2: Peel two eggs, and place one in plain water and one in a cup with no water. Over time what happens? Why?
Activity 3: Peel two eggs and slather one with hand lotion (to model a frog’s mucus). Place both eggs in cups with no water. Observe over time. What happens and why?
Conclusion: The expansion and operation of human communities influence the geographic extent, composition, biological diversity, and viability of natural systems. Can you explain how each model of the egg is similar to a frog’s skin and what the model tells them about how frog’s skin can be affected by chytrid fungus.
Scientists learn to tell the stories of the species that they study. Use what you know to make a difference. Citizen scientists can construct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction and describe and explain how pollution affects animals in California?
