About Myrta's Passions Supporting Peace
Myrta's father Enrique Alvarado married to Ramona Camacho had lived in Canas, Puerto Rico, when the United States declared war on Japan just one day after the attack on Pearl Harbor that killed 2,400 Americans. Myrta and Enrique's father, Narciso Alvarado Cruz lived in the Unites States and was part of the majority that celebrated in Quebrada Limón, Puerto Rico when the 21st Amendment ended national alcohol prohibition on December 5, 1933.
The government programs started by the first “New Deal” in 1933 assisted Narciso Alvarado Cruz and many others from Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Narciso Alvarado Cruz of Canas, Puerto Rico, and many other was likely shocked when Harry S. Truman suddenly became president of the United States in 1945.
Narciso Alvarado Cruz father Ventura Alvarado Gorgonia was born in 1849 in Puerto Rico, the son of María and Jose. He had one son Narciso in 1888 with Isabel Cruz Luciano. Ventura died on February 21, 1919, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the same year that the Spanish Flu decimated the world population.
Mrs. Myrta Gschaar story of the 4 Objects donated to the Collection 911memorial Organization in honor of her beloved husband Robert J. Gschaar.
Before the couple married in 1989, Myrta's husband presented two $2 bills. Her husband told her these symbolized many things: "This would be the second marriage for both of us" and "We are two of a kind" "This is our second chance for happiness." Myrta's husband had gave one bill to her and he kept one for himself.
Mrs. Gschaar always held on to hers till the dreadful day when she got her husbands back from the special trade center Property Recovery Unit of the Police Department three to four years after September 11, 2001 “This is what she needed to accept his death,” Ms. Ramirez said.

Myrta says "By keeping visitors legacy notes moving, and adding to the collection at each anniversary year of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks I have fulfilled what my heart wants.
