Hisaya Komen

Associate Professor, Osaka University, Japan

Hisaya Komen received his Ph.D. (Engineering) from Osaka University, Japan in March 2019 and was an Assistant Professor at Kumamoto University until July 2021. He then became an Associate Professor (Lecturer) at the Joining and Welding Research Institute, Osaka University, where he remains to this day. He specializes in experimental measurements and simulations of arc welding phenomena. In particular, he has developed numerical models using a particle method to elucidate complicate molten pool and metal transfer phenomena with large deformation and phase change. Drawing on these experiences, he has recently been studying molten metal convection and arc phenomena that occur during wire-arc additive manufacturing
