In the 7th Asian/16th Korea-Japan Workshop on Ocean Color (7th AWOC/16th KJWOC) at Burapha University, Thailand, Taiga Nakayama, Kanako Fujita, and Nurul Inayah Bada Maulidya presented their research results in an oral session and poster session. After the conference, we joined in the excursion which Dr. Anukul and his students prepared, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much for supporting everything, Anukul sensei.

We joined in "The 67th Conference (2019 Autumn Conference) of the Remote Sensing Society of Japan" from 28 to 29 November. Fujita Kanako who is a fourth-year student had a presentation in oral in the title of "Development of Bio-Optical Model based on Optical Property Classification of Phytoplankton by Hierarchical Clustering". In addition, I had a presentation in a special session of SGLI satellite that had been launched by JAXA.

Our paper by Hiroto Higa, Wataru Nakamura, Shogo Sugahara, Yoshiyuki Nakamura, Takayuki Suzuki, “DEVELOPMENT OF A BLUE TIDE ESTIMATION METHOD BASED ON OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF SULFUR BY GEOSTATIONARY OCEAN COLOR SATELLITE” was awarded the Coastal Engineering Paper Award in The 66th Annual Journal of Coastal Engineering. I am very honored to receive such a wonderful award.

GCOM-C/SGLI satellite data taken today at 10:49 on October 13, 2019. High concentrated sediment is flowing out from the river into the sea due to super typhoon 19 (Hagibis).

The data is open to the public in the following website, JAXA Satellite Monitoring for Environmental Studies (JASMES) for SGLI.
