Hiromi Yumoto

Hello! 

I am a Senior Research Officer/Postdoc Research Fellow at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER), University of Essex, and am also affiliated with the University of Birmingham. I completed my PhD at the University of Birmingham in 2023.

My research focuses on labour economics and the economics of migration, examining how firms shape economic outcomes for migrants and workers more broadly. I study refugee integration into local labour markets, firm sorting mechanisms, and the relationship between employment dynamics, including job transitions and technology adoption, and workers' mental health.
