Born: September 21, 1820 in Lancaster, PA (42 Years Old)
Graduated 26th out of 50 Cadets from West Point Military Academy in 1841
Fought under Zachary Taylor in the Mexican-American War - was awarded two promotions during the war, becoming a Major in the Army.
After the Mexican-American War, found himself at multiple forts, including out in Oregon territory.
Participated in the Utah War in 1857-1858.
Professor at West Point Military Academy 1860-1861. Instructor of Infantry, Artillery, and Calvary tactics.
At the onset of the Civil War, was promoted to brigadier general, and was assigned to examine the qualifications of volunteer officers, along with commanding a brigade of PA soldiers.
Promoted to Division Commander in August, 1862.
After The Battle of Antietam (Sept. 1862) Promoted to I Corps Commander, Army of the Potomac, making him a Maj. General.
In June, 1863, he became in charge of the "left wing" of the Army of the Potomac, which included the I, III, and XI Corps, along with Gen. Buford's Calvary Division.
Is incredibly well liked by his soldiers, as well as the State of Pennsylvania, the state that Robert E. Lee's Army has invaded.
President Lincoln has been pleased overall with the efforts of Maj. Gen. John Reynolds throughout the entire Civil War.
Reynolds believes that Washington politics has been interfering too much with the work of the Army, and wishes Washington to be less involved with the war effort.
