Humans possess incredibly sophisticated and complex systems -such as the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and thermoregulatory systems- that operate and process information largely below the level of consciousness. Even with today’s most advanced medical and engineering technologies, we still cannot fully unravel these systems in their entirety. Achieving a comprehensive understanding of these networks would enable us to: Elucidate the mechanisms by which diseases develop, Quantitatively diagnose pathological conditions, and Drive the development of novel medical devices and therapies.
Our laboratory conducts cutting‑edge research at the interface of medicine and engineering, in close collaboration with clinicians, engineers, and industry partners. We focus on both the mathematical and computational modelling of human physiological systems and the development of innovative engineering technologies to advance healthcare.
