For Hawaii principals, the first two weeks of Covid-19 school closures was full of uncertainty, anxiety, stress, and fast moving and at times conflicting information and communication. This was not unique to the education profession. This unprecedented pandemic has disrupted all professions and institutions globally.
Leadership experts often advise that when in the midst of crisis, stress, and anxiety, it is helpful to step back and seek a larger perspective.
We thought it would be helpful to share such a perspective for you.
Leadership and human resources expert, Josh Bersin decided to work with partners from MIT and other groups to collect data on what organizations, leaders, and employees were experiencing as a result of this Covid-19 pandemic. Bersin notes that,
“It’s amazing that before this crisis, fewer than 50% of companies even had a remote work program. Today companies like Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and others are rushing to build remote work strategies.”
