Run club routes will rotate through out the weekly runs so that everyone has a chance to run close to home.
Hinton is divided into many different areas, so this allows people to walk (or get a warm up run in) to and from the meeting point. That way we aren't favouring one location over the other, and it's fair for everyone!
Speaking of "for everyone" that what this group is for --- EVERYONE.
All paces, all distances. Each location will have distances between 4k to 15k.
So come join us on a run! We'd love to have you!
Meet at Lion's Park Parking Lot off Mountain Street.
Route is a mix of trail and road.
We'd say 80% trail, 20% road. Give or take.
All routes go to Maxwell Lake, the 11.5k and 14k will also go to Thompson Lake.
Meet at Green Square green space, behind the Visitor's Centre.
Route is mostly road. About 90% road, 10% trail, with a good climb up Mountain Street and around.
Ending in Green Square is also a great place for post run hang-out. Feel free to bring yoga mats/blankets, snacks, etc for after.
If we do a Saturday morning run, Old Grind will be open too for post run snacks! If its an evening run, fingers crossed for the food trucks!
Meet at the parking lot beside Crescent Valley school.
Route is 50/50 road and trail.
From there we will hit the trail off Hardisty, onto Hallam and towards the underpass.
5k runners will get to cruise down the underpass back, past the Rec Centre and back to the school.
8k runners can continue their climb with a loop up and around Switzer drive, behind Starbucks to the Museum and Forestry trails before crossing the bridge and going down underpass back.
Parking/Meeting Info & Route Description Coming Soon!
Meet at the gravel/dirt road opening at the end of Bradwell Street. This area has tons of space for parking.
This route is all trail all day with views of both our local lakes.
The 5k will go past Thompson lake and turn at the disc golf course to loop back to the start.
The 8k (almost 9..) and 10k will cross over the road at the disc golf course towards Maxwell Lake for a loop before returning back.
