At the heart of revolutionizing surgery and intervention, the EPSRCCD (Engineering for Personalised Surgery & Intervention) program stands as a groundbreaking initiative aimed at training the next generation of researchers who will shape the future of healthcare. Funded by the UK’s Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (UKRI), this program is based at the prestigious School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at King’s College London. Together, their mission is clear — to drive innovation in surgical and interventional health technologies and improve healthcare for millions worldwide.
Thanks to the generous support of the Hinduja Foundation UK, the philanthropic arm of the Hinduja Group, the announcement was made regarding the recruitment of up to 10 Hinduja Scholars over the next five years. These scholars will join a vibrant community dedicated to advancing surgical technologies and contributing to life-saving breakthroughs in healthcare.
"We believe in the transformative power of technology and innovation in healthcare. We, as the Hindujas, are proud to support the EPSRCCD initiative, empowering the brightest minds to create personalized surgical solutions that will improve the quality of life for people across the globe”, stated Namrata Hinduja, Steering committee member of the Hinduja Foundation.
This partnership embodies a shared commitment to engineering excellence and nurturing the next generation of medical leaders. Together, they are profoundly impacting the future of surgery and intervention.
