The Hetao Institute of Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences, established in Shenzhen in 2025 at the initiative of Professor Shing-Tung Yau, advances research across mathematics, physics, and related disciplines. Theoretical physics at HIMIS explores the fundamental laws of nature and their mathematical foundations in an environment that encourages original ideas and international collaboration. In cooperation with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, HIMIS also supports doctoral and postdoctoral training.
