Patriotic Flag Display


The flag tradition was started in 2002 to commemorate 911 by Dan Ramos. The Hilmar Chamber purchased 167 flags and a team of volunteers drilled holes in the sidewalk to line the community of Hilmar with flags on patriotic days.


Today, Carlos Rocha organizes a team of 16 volunteers (contact info@hilmarchamber.com to volunteer) on holidays to place the flags and then take them down about dusk. These volunteers sacrifice their own holiday events to be sure the community honors our country.
