Other features
There is access next to the site to one of several public footpaths in the area. Despite the name, there are no hills!
For nature lovers there are many wild birds, including pheasants, owls, swans, ducks, moorhen and many smaller species, tits, finches, sparrows, warblers etc. and if you are lucky, in the evening or early morning, you may see roe deer, muntjac deer, badgers, rabbits and hares, or even a fox.
We have a small nature hide at the end of the site and visitors are free to take a cup of coffee or other beverage and sit quietly and watch our local wildlife.
The site is a good base for exploring both the Lincolnshire coast and the Wolds, being 9 miles from Mablethorpe and also 9 miles from Louth, which is dubbed the Capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds and is a charming traditional market town.
The grey seal breeding grounds at Donna Nook (mid October to December) are only a 10 minute drive from the site.
