Background:
In 2013, your city was on the brink of a profound realization that could have sparked a global shift in perspectives. We are referring to the street Conversion Project.
Traffic network challenges exist in every city. What makes your city unique is your narrative, and we have been paying full attention.
We have developed a scientific model that addresses three basic questions.
1. Which one-way streets are misdirected?
2. Which two-way streets should become one-way, and in which direction?
3. Which one-way streets should become two-way?
Our concerns encompass economic, social, and environmental cost implications for our government and citizens. Our analysis confirms that all of the one-way segments between 1st and 6th Avenues, from Walnut to Jackson Street, are misdirected. Lincoln and Main streets are also misdirected. The east-west block between 3rd and 4th Avenues on Washington Street at the Hillsboro Central Station is similarly misdirected. Our concept rectifies the directionality in all affected areas from the entrance gateway on the westside to 10th Avenue on the east. Baseline and Oak Streets are redesigned as two-way segments with a center turn lane.
Our solutions can be implemented in phases over time but will require eminent domain proceedings. Some geometric reconfiguration of key intersections is necessary. These changes will create jobs that contribute to the desired results. We are confident that our recommendations are clear and that your citizens will prioritize the community's needs over personal gain. When everyone benefits, no one loses.
As you assess our solutions, you and your staff are encouraged to share our findings with others in your community. We stand by our model's results. Please let us know how we can assist you further to provide additional clarity. You will receive further notifications and updates in the mail.
For now, we wish you farewell and extend our best wishes to you and your citizens in the decades ahead.
Warm regards,
The One-Way segment at the Bus-Rail hub on Washington Street (not the image above) is misdirected. Our proposed plan redirects it to the west. All of the north-south One-Way streets are also misdirected, but they should remain as One-Way.
Our design process has remained sensitive to existing infrastructure. This minimizes cost implications. The stone wall, for example, remains intact, while a proposed roadway segment adds a new connector segment behind WaFd Bank.
In In this simulation, you will observe the software's ability to detail intersections along with safety and directional features.
In this simulation, you will see a recreation of Intel Park, the airport, and downtown assets. We use Cities: Skylines software to import open street maps, Google Earth imagery, and topographic data to recreate the geographic features of your city in a virtual environment. We then redesign the intersections based on our model and run the traffic simulation.
