Many breeding programs hold the belief that an animal's abilities as a top retriever, hunting companion, or exceptional Boykin Spaniel are strictly inherited. While genetics play a significant role, they are not the only factor. A puppy's potential begins at whelping, and breeders can make a substantial difference through their interaction, nutrition, early training, socialization, enrichment, and conditioning. These elements collectively shape a puppy's development and ability to excel.
BIO-SENSOR TRAINING
We begin training puppies at just 3 days old using BIO-SENSOR TRAINING, which involves hands-on techniques for early neurological stimulation. This training is believed to positively impact their development, performance, and ability to handle stressors effectively. SOCIALIZATION
As puppies’ eyes begin to open and they start hearing sounds, we shift to SOCIALIZATION, focusing on providing them with abundant love. We handle the puppies daily, often multiple times a day, ensuring they get plenty of exercise and playtime together. We also talk to the puppies, helping them become familiar with every household member and our other pets.
ENRICHMENT
We start ENRICHMENT by exposing puppies to various sounds, such as loud clapping to mimic gunfire and soft music as background noise in their enclosure. We use clicker training during feeding and teach them recall by calling them for treats. Additionally, we introduce our Boykin Puppies to toys, rawhides, water, bumpers and feathers, beginning their training to retrieve bumpers and birds.
