I received an email last week from Hikvision indicating they are an no longer updating the Hik-connect app in the Google Play store as a result of "US Entity List Restrictions." The email included a link to a new app store on the Hikvision website.
I noticed there wasn't any story on this yet in IPVM and I tend to think this is kinda a big deal. Eventually the current app won't be supported by the newer operating systems and it will require consumers to side load an app. Not exactly very user-friendly and will raise eyebrows.

I have a little experience with Hikvision Cameras however, I have been asked to assist in setting up 4 Network cameras using POE without a DVR or NVR , to be viewed remotely and to store the camera stream in the cloud.
PMM2, you may check out Eagle Eye Networks for the cloud storage. i know their device (which replaces an NVR) is avail with a harddrive for onsite storage along with sending/storing footage to the cloud. I think the price per camera is around $15 per month give or take.
