I like to hike. The exercise, combined with the challenge of completing a trail along with amazing scenery; turned a once overweight 12 year old new Boy Scout into a bit of a mountain goat by my 18th birthday. Now an adult, I've put a little of the weight back on, and am a little less spry jogging down the trail- but still enjoy the challenge and scenery. With close to 1,000 miles under a backpack and over 30 years of experience, I have put this page together to share some wisdom learned over time and hopefully can encourage you to try hiking if you've never considered it, or impart courage if you've thought about it and felt intimidated by a dirt path heading off into the distance.
Where do we begin?...same as with a hike; one step at a time moving forward.
