My Story

Iris "IRIE" Malang, known as "IRIE" to their friends & Ohana, is an ambitious multidisciplinary artist residing in the Bay Area. IRIE is an artist that brings a creative energy and force that is contagious. Their resume includes a wide range of skillsets including Game production, Video-editing, and illustration.

The love of art started at a young age attending Kalihi-waena Elementary School and their talent being recognized by two amazing teachers, Carol Dee Nishimura (2nd Grade) and Robyn Hashizaki (5th Grade). Encouraged to pursue this creative fire, IRIE continued to develop their skills through high school and eventually attending Art School in San Francisco, California. This ushered a new chapter of creativity which led to Game Development and Production.

In 2010, IRIE graduated from the Art Institute of California - San Francisco and started to develop their career both in the games industry and public art. By 2015, they were developing and shipping games, working on murals in the Bay Area, and producing their own solo art show. In 2016 they became part of the F.A.M (food art music) collective which went produce several art shows and even showcase at the prestigious 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco.

In 2022, despite the global pandemic, IRIE is still creating works of art through digital mediums, murals, and finding time to balance themselves with family and nature.
