How do the committee roles interact?
For every day functioning, the HISAC committee is non-hierarchical and all committee members work in collaboration. While several roles (Training and Equipment officer roles) have been officially delegated by the Dive Officer, these roles operate autonomously.

Every year, an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in May (tbc), coinciding with the end of the UHI/SAMS academic year. The vote for all positions is carried out then.
Any club member can nominate themselves for most positions, provided they are a paid-up member of HISAC. However, note that it is a HISA requirement that all HISA Clubs & Societies have student members of HISA in the role of chair, secretary & treasurer.

Roles may become available throughout the year, when additional committee needs arise or if a committee member resigns their role.
These opportunities will be advertised (with atleast two weeks notice) and any HISAC member can nominate themselves.Â
Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will then be organised and new committee members will then be voted in.
