Heat pump and mini-split systems should be professionally cleaned annually—sometimes bi-annually in high-use or dusty environments—to maintain peak performance and efficiency. 

• Filters/Screens - Filters are responsible for trapping dirt, dust, and other airborne particles to ensure that clean and healthy air is continuously circulating throughout your home. Over time, these filters can become dirty and clogged which reduces the efficiency of your system and indoor air quality. You should check your filters every month for quality insurance. 

• Coils - Cleaning indoor coils on a heat pump is essential because they're responsible for absorbing and transferring heat inside your home. If and when airflow becomes restricted, and heat transfer efficiency drops, your system is forced to work harder and use more energy. Cleaning coils can significantly extend the life of your heat pumps. It's recommended to have your coils professionally cleaned annually to ensure optimal performance. 

• Outdoor Unit - When dirt, pollen, leaves, or debris clog the fins, heat transfer is reduced and the system must work harder, increasing energy consumption and wear on the compressor. Regular outdoor coil cleaning keeps your system running efficiently and extends the system's lifespan.
