Community Support Opportunity and Awareness
I am interested in getting some awareness for this fundraising effort within our swim team community. As we have experienced, the competition for swimming in the Twin Cities is lacking since so many of the opportunities for swimming are in the suburbs. Minneapolis doesn't have a year-round pool accessible to low income people as a result Minnesota has the highest rates of drowning by people of color. This project will reopen a pool in the Phillips neighborhood. Our community can only benefit if we increase the number of people who know how to swim. Please consider donating to this effort.
