VOTING
The voting region can be found on the map located on the Home page, and more detailed and interactive maps can be found on the Map page.
A Traffic Action Committee (TAC) member, who is a resident of our neighborhood, will collect votes by visiting residents door to door.
Vote collectors should identify themselves. You may ask them for their name.
Residents who will be collecting votes may have their own biases regarding whether they want the speed humps installed. They are not neutral third parties.
Votes will be collected in writing, and you will be asked to include your name, address, signature and the date with your vote. You may request a written receipt or confirmation of your vote.
Votes will be collected over a two week period.
Each property is allowed one vote on the matter, so residents in each property must come to consensus on their single vote.
A vote not collected is considered to be a vote of "no" on the issue.
If you need assistance with voting, such as if you have difficulty answering your door or feel uncomfortable doing so, please reach out to a nearby neighbor. They can help to coordinate collection of your vote. Keep in mind that the vote collectors are your neighbors and will simply be collecting your vote. They will not ask to come inside your home.
A 2/3 majority will determine the outcome of the vote. Once a 2/3 majority among eligible properties is reached in either a "yes" or "no" direction, the voting period may end early.
