I've included two links at the top of each piece of artwork; standard resolution and high resolution. The standard resolution will generally be 600x600px and is the size that is displayed inline. The high resolution can be anything; I've found instances of movie artwork at 1600x2400px and TV shows up to 2400x2400px. However, the high resolution does not always work, particularly for iBooks, Movies, and Albums (albums are now working thanks to a tip from John Leustek). It seems to depend on the country and studio involved but you generally need a special key to get that high res artwork and you can only get that key by purchasing something from iTunes (and then it only lasts a short while). With app icons, there is only one artwork link which will give you a 1024x1024px file; just click on the app icon.

I've been trying to find the album cover pictures for each of the Coldplay albums in high resolution but it's been a lot harder than expected. Does anybody have links/know where I can find the original album artwork in high quality? It's going to be printed out on A3.

High Quality Album Cover Download

Hey guys, I want to decorate my new room with some album covers, but to print them I need to get a high quality image of the cover. Anyone know where I can find a high quality album cover from Circles? (About 3500x3500) Thanks in advance!

On its About page, the founder mentions that he started the site because so much of the CD cover art online was of terrible quality. These images are often plagued with JPEG compression, poor contrast, scratches, and scans where someone didn't even take the time to remove the CD insert from its case.

As a result, you'll find excellent album cover images here for over 700,000 albums. Just search for a specific album (or artist) to find what you're looking for. Each one displays the image size, dimensions, and user rating, so you can pick the best one for your needs.

Get started by searching for your chosen album or artist using the box at the top. After you select an album, you'll see the chosen image for it at the top-left of the page. Select More images to see other pictures related to that album, such as the CD's back cover, inserts, special editions, and regional variants.

Overall, the images on Discogs aren't as high-quality as Album Art Exchange. However, the site has images for singles, compilations, and rarities as well. If you're interested in those, plus images aside from the main album art, there's a lot here for you.

You can select a regional release if you like, but this typically isn't necessary. Instead, you can access a high-quality version of the cover art on the right side of the main album page. And if you're interested, most of the data this site has cataloged is available to download for free.

You'll have to be particular when looking for album art on Google Images, as you're likely to find poor-quality photos. You might want to set the Size option under Tools to Large to avoid tiny versions of album art files. Google Images doesn't show image dimensions on the thumbnails anymore, so you'll have to click an image and then mouse over it on the right side to check the size.

If you only want to grab a few album covers, the above methods work well. But they're too slow for downloading dozens or hundreds of CD covers for your collection. When you need to add art to a lot of tracks, you should use a desktop tool dedicated to the task.

As you probably know, Amazon sells tons of music. As part of this, the site usually features high-quality artwork on each album page. Simply search for the album that you're looking for and you can access its art. However, you'll have to jump through a quick hoop to get a decent-quality version of the album art.

This list of resources makes it easy to find CD cover art for any album in your collection. Whether you're looking to add proper art for a rare release or just want to collect high-quality versions of your favorite album art, these sites will deliver what you need.

What are the best websites for album art? Nowadays I, like most people, want to enjoy album art as a part of the whole album experience. I want high quality, high resolution album art and I want it part of my listening experience.

Hi all, I spent a considerable amount of time last year fixing up my mp3 collection with this great software, it still took weeks however, as I had to source high quality album art manually. I added high quality album art to all of my music where possible, which at the time seemed like a good idea for future proofing for higher res screens etc. on smartphones and tablets. I was using 800x800 on average for my album art.

I always resize all of my album cover art to 500x500, whether it was originally 600x600 or 3000x3000. And don't embed your art into every file. That's a massive waste of space. Just put it in the same folder as your songs and name it "cover" (without the quotes). Even at that size my "Cover Art" folder (yes I have them all backed up on 2 HDD's) is 456 megs containing 4800 files. Imaging how much space that would be just for artwork if every song had embedded art.

@John Doe Placing cover images in folders only works if you have a tidily organised music collection where everything is stored in an album folder of its own. This is not always the case. And as with any sidecar style file system, you need to copy everything together, and each piece of software needs to recognise it. I do have a few folders set up like that, but mostly I prefer to have images embedded the files (if there are images at all; most of my singles don't).

Unfortunately, neither the labeling nor the CoverArt provided by download providers is in any sense of consistent quality. If you are looking to find alternative and high-quality CoverArt, here are some good sources:

This guide will cover how and where to find high resolution album art for your media files using various different methods and sources. There is always Google image search but sometimes finding higher resolution images can prove difficult.

iTunes Artwork Finder is a fantastic project from Ben Dodson. Simply search for an album and you will be presented with the artwork along with options to download the standard resolution or high resolution versions. That is of course assuming the album is on iTunes.

Thanks Peter, I used both pixabay and unsplash a lot for stock photos. But I am not looking for photos in this case. I am looking for fantasy/sci-fi drawings and artwork in super high quality to use for album covers for my epic music etc.

You can find album cover artwork with a Google images search then check them out for size, colour, correctness and alignment. I use a photo editor to crop them and adjust them (down) to the required size/resolution, and also to remove minor artwork blemishes. I then apply them with Id-Tag editor of dBpoweramp.

@Paul_C , historically I used albumartexchange when I needed to find a cover if DBPoweramp did not have the source cover. In looking at albumartexchange or, indeed, using Google I can find the data that sets out eg 600 x 600 or 800 x 800 but nothing that sets out dpi. I appreciate this may be a very basic info but where do I find dpi info?

However, going into the UPnP folder of the album in the Naim app on a 10" tablet, the quality of the large album image is terrible and looks heavily over-compressed, e.g. with clouding in uniformly colored areas, transitions blurred, and details gone.

now, from what I understand, the dimensions of a cd album cover are 800 by 800 pixels.........but would it not be a better idea to design it with bigger dimensions and high resolution then scale down to proper size when done?

CD booklets and covers tend to be around 4.75 inches by 4.75 inches. As such, you will want to create a new document in Photoshop with those dimensions... For print, you would obviously want to use a high resolution (300dpi)

And there you have it! A 3000x3000px version of your favorite album art. To put it in perspective, a 1080p youtube video has a resolution of 1920x1080px. That means you can use this artwork without any fear of losing quality.

Sniffing around tells me the recommended max print size at 300 dpi for a photo at this resolution is 10.8" X 8.1". However, if I go slightly beyond that (i.e., enlarging to 12"x12" in Photoshop for the album cover), is it going to look like garbage? With the presumption, that is, of a well-taken, in-focus photograph.

Thanks for this, if the sorting and proper renaming will help, i am willing to do so.

For now i changed one folder in the suggested order, so Artist, Album name, songs.

The album cover is an image i called Folder.jpg

I uploaded the new album to my nas and cleared cache.

Still a poor image. Web album art is turned off because i would like to use my own art.

I want to print the six covers, (The Fame (Red font), The Fame Monster (Dark Hair), Born This Way (Special Version), ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica, in the highest quality available. I want to print them on plastic and frame them in Record Frames. (Because I don't have a record player, and Vinyls are so expensive.) Anyway, does anyone have them in the highest quality possible? Not even sure what the pixel dimensions are for that, but someone just requested the Chromatica one and it looked beautiful.

Thanks for your help in advance!

IANAL but the album cover should fall under fair use guidelines. Specifically, it does not infringe upon the copyright holder's abilities (in fact you can easily argue the opposite). Indeed, your usage would be a "fair and reasonable criticism".

The album cover art is the image that represents an album. The image can be a photo, graphic design, or illustration. It appears on all formats of music releases including vinyl records, CDs, and digital downloads.

Regardless of what format your album cover art will appear in it needs to have a high-quality resolution so that it looks good on any screen size. From desktop computer screens to mobile phone screens. This is why you need to use professional photos with well-lit backgrounds and clear focus for the best results. 2351a5e196
