Here is a general map of my route from the Sears Tower to Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital. On the route, we'll run through the iconic lakefront trail, Lurie Children's, Millenium Park, Wrigley Field, and much more. For safety reasons, the exact route will only be given to friends and family. However, stay tuned for the YouTube video of my run posted here after the event.
How on God's Green Earth are You Going to Do This?
When I talked to a Walgreen's employee who was printing the posters for the High 55!, she gave me one main precaution, "don't die".
Safety is absolutely my number one priority on this run. From the training, route, nutrition, gear, hydration, weather, everything is considered to a tee. The run will take place either on 6/20, 6/21, 6/27, or 6/28 depending on the temperature and weather. For instance, a cloudy 70 degree day will feel very different form a sunny 85 degree day. Plentiful amounts of carbs, electrolytes, water, and salt are also a necessity. The goal has always been to complete the challenge-not to race it any regard. As such, a run-walk combo including many mandatory rest stops will be implemented. Contact my email andy2005loh@gmail.com if you have any questions about the run or the fundraiser in general.
