Hideki Shimada (嶌田 栄樹)

Hideki Shimada is a senior researcher at Global Zero Emission Research Center (GZR), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. He is currently a visiting scholar at the University of California, Davis, and an affiliate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Science from Kyoto University in 2021 and specializes in Environmental and Energy Economics. His research focuses on understanding how households use energy through data-driven analysis, with a particular emphasis on promoting decarbonization within the residential sector. He also evaluates the socio-economic impacts of decarbonization technologies.
