AuraaByte ("we", "our", or "us") develops and operates the Hidden Camera Detector & Spy  mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how our App handles your information, what permissions are required, and how your privacy is protected when you use our service.
Hidden Camera Detector & Spy is designed as an on-device utility tool to assist users with privacy awareness and safety. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) to our servers. All scanning, network analysis, and sensor evaluations are processed locally in real time directly on your device.
To perform scanning functions, the App requires specific system permissions. Below is a breakdown of why each permission is requested:
Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA):
Purpose: Required strictly for the optical and infrared lens detection features, enabling users to visually scan dark areas for reflective camera lenses using custom display filters.
Data Handling: Video streams are processed locally in real time on your screen. The App does not record, capture, store, or upload photos or videos.
Local Network & Wi-Fi State (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE, INTERNET):
Purpose: Enables scanning of the local Wi-Fi network to identify connected devices (such as IP cameras, wireless surveillance equipment, and unsecured devices) and provide Wi-Fi security insights.
Data Handling: Network queries and IP/MAC lookups are executed locally on your device to display active network devices. We do not store or transmit your network credentials or device lists.
Bluetooth & Nearby Devices (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN, BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT):
Purpose: Allows the App to discover nearby active Bluetooth-enabled gadgets, wireless trackers, or surveillance devices.
Data Handling: Scanning occurs dynamically in memory. Bluetooth signals and peripheral identifiers are not recorded or transferred off your device.
Magnetic Sensor / Magnetometer (Hardware Sensor):
Purpose: Utilizes your device's built-in magnetic sensor to detect abnormal electromagnetic fields (EMF) emitted by hidden electronics or hardware components.
Data Handling: Sensor readings are analyzed instantaneously on-device and are never logged or stored.
Location Permission (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION):
Purpose: Required by the Android operating system to perform Wi-Fi network scans and Bluetooth peripheral discovery.
Data Handling: The App does not track, record, or share your physical GPS coordinates.
To support the App's maintenance, performance optimization, and ad delivery (if applicable), we may integrate trusted third-party SDKs, such as:
Google Play Services
Google AdMob / Firebase
These third parties may collect standard non-personal diagnostic metrics (such as device model, OS version, advertising ID, crash reports, and performance analytics) governed by their respective privacy policies.
No Data Stored: Because all scanning operations are executed in volatile memory locally on your device, we retain zero personal or environmental scan data.
Security Practices: We follow industry-standard security guidelines to ensure the application communicates securely when fetching external advertising or update assets.
The App is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we take immediate steps to remove such information.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, technical changes, or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
