Caring for your Pearls

At Hidden Pearl, all our pearls are genuine, cultured freshwater pearls. They either come “natural”, which means they are classic colours - whites, creams, peaches, lavenders or dyed. 

Natural Pearls

These pearls can be treated with soapy water and mineral oil to increase the beautiful lustre. 

Dyed Pearls

Our dyed pearls have had intervention to help make them into all the beautiful rainbow of colours you see during our Pearl reveals. These pearls should not be treated with lotions, or oil as this could impact the dye; try not to spray perfumes directly onto the pearls either. Do not wear your pearl jewellery in the shower or bath as this can impact the dye over time.

Mounted Pearls

If you have mounted pearl jewellery, this can naturally loosen over time. It is easily fixed with jewellery adhesive - please get in touch. To prevent loosening or the pearl coming off - avoid direct heat to the pearl, especially where it is attached.
