Prestwick in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland is classic golf course. Here are the courses in top condition, the resorts just as authentic, the pint as good and whisky as warm as in the other Gulf regions of Scotland but the advantage is that the prices are humane. With our package you stay close to the local pubs, to the Whiskey hand laren, to the shopping street, restaurants, mall and to the train station where regional trains take you directly to Glasgow. A perfect day trip on a day off when Glasgow is hotter than ever. Golf is played on well selected courses of high class. The basic package includes accommodation and golf. If you are 6 passengers or more, all transfers on the spot can be an idea, you are less travelers, the recommendation is a rental car because otherwise it will be costly with transfer. This package includes flights, but we are happy to help you book your flight tickets from your desired airline. Learn More about Scotland golf vacation packages
Dun Donald: Host of the Scottish Open 2017, this is of course a highlight and one of the best golf experiences you can get in Scotland. Kyle Philips, who designed Kingsbarnes, has also laid the foundation for Dun Donald, who opened 2005, and is a genuine link where you will meet lush Greens defended by large deep bunkers. The length varies from pleasant 5865 meters to 6675 meters depending on the tee making the course suitable for both a mean golfer and pro. A "must play" in Scotland.
Lochgreen Golf is located in Troon just north of Prestwick and belongs to the six Troon courses here. This is a predominantly linksbana but with a lot called the Dovecot Section where the character shifts to more pronounced. The track measures 6200 meters and is a course that should suit golfers of different experience. It was on Lochgreen Jack Nicklaus for the first time qualified for the Open Championship, 1962. So just follow in his footsteps.
Darley is a real golf course and a pretty tough one which will put even the more experienced golfers to the test. With tight fairways and many tough obstacles along the 5700-foot golf course, Darley ranks as one of Scotland's most difficult challenges. The course is shorter than the neighbor Lochgreen but if you get a good score here you have proven that you can master a tough golf course. A golf course usually consists of 18 holes of different lengths: par 3 which is the shortest, par 4 which is medium in length and par 5 which is the longest. At each hole there is a tee called tee. From there, you start playing along a cut surface (fairway) against a flag that stands on a finely cut grass surface (green). Along the hole are gaming obstacles such as sand-filled bunkers and water obstacles, which you play over or around.
The golf course often forms a green oasis where people and nature meet. Playing golf and at the same time staying in nature is a perfect combination. On the course there is a varied flora and a biodiversity of amphibians and birds that enjoy the ponds. Welcome to the world's most beautiful sports arena!
Golf is a way to spend time with friends, family or members of your home club. Golfers who like to travel can visit different clubs around the country - or abroad - and meet new people with the same interest.
If you are new to golf, you will have enough 6–7 clubs. Often you get to borrow and test clubs at the golf club. You also need balls, bags, and pegs to knock the ball away on tee, sneakers and maybe a glove for better grip on the club. When you get a little better you can fill up with more clubs, and golf shoes that are adapted for a good grip on the ground.
Golfers at completely different levels and at different ages can meet and play on equal terms, as our differences are equalized in golf's finicky handicap system. It is also a way to measure your own development as you start on handicap 54 and lower yourself as you get better. It's never too late to start playing and you develop your whole life.
