About Me – Olivia C. | Monroe Eats & Local Food Blogger
Hi food lovers! I’m Olivia Carter, the voice (and taste buds!) behind Bites of Monroe, a blog devoted to uncovering Monroe, NC’s tastiest treasures, from down-home diners and BBQ joints to trendy coffee shops and bakeries.
I moved to Monroe five years ago from Raleigh and instantly fell in love with its charm and its food scene. As someone who’s always had a deep appreciation for Southern cuisine and locally owned eateries, I started this blog as a way to document my food adventures and highlight the stories behind each plate.
I believe food brings people together, and through Bites of Monroe, I aim to introduce residents and visitors alike to the culinary gems right in our backyard. Each week, I try a new restaurant, talk with chefs and owners, and post detailed reviews with mouthwatering photos. I also share recipes inspired by local dishes and spotlight hidden gems that might be flying under the radar.
My background is in culinary arts and social media marketing, so I blend food critique with storytelling and visuals that capture not just what’s on the plate but the experience that comes with it. I’ve even hosted local food tours and love collaborating with local farmers and food vendors.
When I’m not taste-testing my way through town, I’m either experimenting in my kitchen, attending food festivals, or walking off a big brunch at one of Monroe’s scenic parks. I’m passionate about sustainable eating, supporting small businesses, and encouraging everyone to eat more locally.
If you’re hungry for new flavours or just looking for your next go-to restaurant, Bites of Monroe is here to guide you. Thanks for reading, and bring your appetite!
