Dr. Ehsan Mohammadi

Dircotor 

He uses data science and web analytics methods to answer social science questions in different contexts, such as scholarly communication, health informatics, mis/disinformation, and user information behavior. 

Professor of Data Science at the Information School at the University of Sheffield and Research Associate at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) at the University of Oxford.

He is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina Department of Statistics. His research focuses on developing novel methodologies for datasets with complex dependence and big data, such as Spatio-temporal and spatial data. He develops computationally scalable statistical approaches that capture the essence of data and address both theoretical and computational challenges. He collaborates closely with researchers from different disciples worldwide in various multidisciplinary research and consultation projects 

He holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Information from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He is a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher at the Machine Learning at Intelligence Operations (MLIO) Group and JPMorgan Chase, where he supports the development of ML models and intelligent tools. His research interests include Research Impact, Human-Computer Interaction, Social Media, and Digital Health. 


She is a Ph.D. student in the School of Information Science at the University of South Carolina. Her research examines the social and structural factors that shape users’ interactions with mental health information and explores how users navigate these factors through emerging information and communication technologies 


Yizhou Cai (Jake)

Jake is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of South Carolina, Department of Statistics. He was a member of the CQAM Lab at the University of Toronto in 2019, focusing on using Machine Learning methods to solve industry financial problems. He is interested in applying advanced statistics in different domains, including information science, finance, economy, and computer science.


Mehrnoush Mokhtarnejad

She joined the University of South Carolina, School of Information Science in August 2022 as a Graduate Research Assistant. She is interested in human-computer interaction and user experience (UX).


Jiaxuan Zhang

He is a Ph.D. student in the School of Information Science at the University of South Carolina. His research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, and Immersive Technology. He is motivated to elevate human potential through the more refined utilization of technology.

Samneh Borji

She possesses a diverse background in computer science, teaching, communication, and research. She is driven by a passion for bridging the gap between Computer Science and Information Science to establish connections and explore their synergies. She is committed to enhancing people's information literacy by implementing her research projects, thereby enabling them to navigate the world of mass information and avoid falling prey to misleading information

He is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Carolina. He is interested in software testing, machine learning, and data science. Alireza worked in our lab as a data engineer and data scientist between April 2020 and September 2021.

He was a data science research assistant in 2018 and 2019 while he was a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Carolina.
