Coaches

Jon Baran has been a cheerleader since 2000, starting at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where his team competed nationally. He worked with UCA for 11 years, coached at Peak Athletics, and coached/choreographed for teams in Colorado and nationally. With 24 State Champion programs under his belt, he's also coached internationally, leading Team Austria at world championships. Currently based in Colorado, he continues to consult, judge, announce, and choreograph for cheerleading. In his free time, Jon enjoys snow skiing, wakesurfing, and attending live sporting events.

Coach Alli is entering her first year coaching at Heritage High School, bringing with her a strong background in competitive cheer. She has been part of state championship and state runner-up teams during the 2017 and 2019 seasons and has helped lead teams to College Nationals titles in Daytona Beach, Florida, in 2021 and 2024. Outside of cheer, Coach Alli is currently pursuing a degree in nursing. She is passionate about developing strong athletes, confident leaders, and a positive team culture.

Paige is a Heritage High School 2024 graduate where she has been cheering for 3 years. This will be her first year coaching, helping out with JV and the Rec teams!   She currently works for an elementary after school program. After graduation, Paige will be going to Community College of Denver for radiation technology! She LOVE sharks and anything outdoors!

Coach Jocelyn is in her first year as a JV Assistant Cheer Coach. She brings a strong background in both cheer and gymnastics, having competed as a gymnast for seven years before cheering all four years of high school. During her cheer career, she helped lead her team to three state championships, including one alongside our Head Coach, Jon Baran. In addition to her role at the high school, Coach Jocelyn also dedicates time to our Eagle chicks rec team, where she helps coach her 7-year-old daughter’s squad. She’s passionate about building confident, skilled athletes and fostering a strong team culture.

OLIVIA (LIVV) WEST 

JV CO-Assistant Coach

This is Olivia’s first year with Heritage. She started her cheerleading journey in 2003 at Peak Athletics (Jon was her first coach!). She cheered in the All Star world as a level 5 athlete until 2012. While in college, she was the assistant varsity coach at MPCHS in Iowa where she helped lead the team to 3 state titles. Olivia was a UCA staff member for 2 years as well as a current coach at Cheer Athletics. Outside of cheerleading, Olivia is a behavior therapist. She loves spending time with her husband and daughter, Maize.
